Exercise IS GOOD!
I’ve had a number of people ask me “Should you be exercising during chemo?” Many of my family members have lectured me to not overexert myself. I understand that they want me to get better, but the fact of the matter is that exercise has been proven to reverse or prohibit some of the effects of chemo. Ironically, a sedentary lifestyle can lead to a decrease in muscle mass, stamina, and a whole host of other other diseases including cancer. So I say to all exercisers going through chemo “keep on truckin”.
Bottom line exercise makes me feel good! I don’t have cancer when I’m on my bike, running, or at the gym. Plus it makes me feel really good when I have better times than people who don’t have cancer.
I’ve attached a couple of articles that outline the benefits of exercise during chemo. As long as you don’t try to overdue it or set personal records you’re fine. If you are…..You’re a gangster and I want some of what your taking!!!!
